Children accepted into our education sponsorship program understand the benefits that an education can provide but, due to the tough economic circumstances in Haiti, are unable to afford the minimum costs of tuition and fees required to attend public school. After submitting an application, they are evaluated by one of our in-country coordinators and must be approved by a member of the Haitian Roots Board of Directors before they are accepted to our program. For $300/year (or $25/month) you help a child attend school -- an opportunity taken for granted by most of us. To the children (and their families) in our sponsorship program, receiving an education means hope for the future and an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. You can change the life of one of these precious children by becoming a sponsor today!
If you give a man a fish he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach him to catch a fish you do him a good turn.

Fernando Bourbe Talens
Hi! I'm Fernando and I'm one of the youngest kids at the Haitian Roots Academy right now. When this pic was taken, I was really tired and not interested at all in cooperating for a photo. But I'm a sweet boy and need an education!
Hello, I'm Saika. I have sickle-cell anemia. I was very healthy and happy until I was 5 years old when I had my first stroke. The last few years have been harder and harder on me with additional strokes. I've lost the ability to do a lot of the things that I used to be able to do. I'm grateful to Haitian Roots for helping me and my family.
Hello. My name is Leila. I am new to the Haitian Roots Academy and am in the second grade (2016-17). I like learning math. I hope to become a doctor some day. When I'm not in school, I like to study. I hope that some day I will be able to visit the United States because it sounds like a nice place.

Stania Gay Romelus
Hello. I'm Stania. My birthday is Nov 4, 2004. I'm in 7th grade (2016-17 school year) at the Haitian Roots Academy.
Hello. I'm Kervens. My birthday is 16 Jun 2002. I'm only in 4th grade because my school attendance and the quality of my education has been very sporadic thru the years. Now that I am at HRA, I hope that I will be able to work hard and catch up to my peers. On volunteer said about me, "Kervens has a kind heart. He loves to play soccer. He is always shy when you first meet him but is just waiting for you to try to engage him. Please consider sponsoring Kervens today."
I am new to HRA and am just 3 years old (for 2016-17 school year). I am a sweet and happy little girl.
Lovensky Jean Louis
Hi. I'm Lovensky. I'm in 7th grade at HRA (2016-17 school year). My birthday is 13 March 1999. I'm working hard to catch up to grade level.
Nelda was born 11 Jan 2005. She just began Haitian Roots Academy. One of Haitian Roots coordinators brought her to the school with her father and sisters just after her mother died. The coordinator said that her father desperately needs help to try to raise them. We're grateful they came to Haitian Roots Academy! But they need sponsors to be able to continue. Thank you.
