Children accepted into our education sponsorship program understand the benefits that an education can provide but, due to the tough economic circumstances in Haiti, are unable to afford the minimum costs of tuition and fees required to attend public school. After submitting an application, they are evaluated by one of our in-country coordinators and must be approved by a member of the Haitian Roots Board of Directors before they are accepted to our program. For $300/year (or $25/month) you help a child attend school -- an opportunity taken for granted by most of us. To the children (and their families) in our sponsorship program, receiving an education means hope for the future and an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. You can change the life of one of these precious children by becoming a sponsor today!
If you give a man a fish he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach him to catch a fish you do him a good turn.

I am new to HRA and am just 3 years old (for 2016-17 school year). I am a sweet and happy little girl.
Hello! This little one is Chrisnaella. She is 4 years old and in 2nd year kindergarten at the Haitian Roots Academy.
Hello. I'm Kervens. My birthday is 16 Jun 2002. I'm only in 4th grade because my school attendance and the quality of my education has been very sporadic thru the years. Now that I am at HRA, I hope that I will be able to work hard and catch up to my peers. On volunteer said about me, "Kervens has a kind heart. He loves to play soccer. He is always shy when you first meet him but is just waiting for you to try to engage him. Please consider sponsoring Kervens today."
Hello. My name is Stacy. I'm 4 years old (born 2012). I love going to the Haitian Roots Academy. My teachers say that I have very good behavior in class. I like learning about numbers. I want to be a doctor when I grow up. When I'm not busy learning and working, I love to jump rope!

Bonjou! My name is Marie. I was born in 2008 and am currently in the 2nd grade at Haitian Roots Academy (2016-17). I like to study and do math. I hope I can be a doctor some day. My favorite food is rice with sauce. I am shy in class and sometimes my teacher thinks I'm not learning very quickly, but with time I think I will do just fine. I am a very good artist.
Hi! My name is Clif Christensen Derival. I am going to turn 10 years old soon—on the 21 first of December (born 2004). My father died before I was old enough to remember him and my mother left. My aunt has been taking care of me for most of my life. We haven’t often been able to afford for me to go to school so right now I’m in first grade. But I get to go to the Haitian Roots Academy and I will catch up soon! I am very small for my age but I am good at basketball. I dream of becoming a professional basketball player one day!
Hi! I'm new to Haitian Roots youngest kindergarten class. More info about me will be posted soon.
Isberlanta was born 7 Nov 2009. She just began Haitian Roots Academy. One of Haitian Roots coordinators brought her to the school with her father and sisters just after her mother died. The coordinator said that her father desperately needs help to try to raise them. We're grateful they came to Haitian Roots Academy! But they need sponsors to be able to continue. Thank you.
