Children accepted into our education sponsorship program understand the benefits that an education can provide but, due to the tough economic circumstances in Haiti, are unable to afford the minimum costs of tuition and fees required to attend public school. After submitting an application, they are evaluated by one of our in-country coordinators and must be approved by a member of the Haitian Roots Board of Directors before they are accepted to our program. For $300/year (or $25/month) you help a child attend school -- an opportunity taken for granted by most of us. To the children (and their families) in our sponsorship program, receiving an education means hope for the future and an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. You can change the life of one of these precious children by becoming a sponsor today!
If you give a man a fish he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach him to catch a fish you do him a good turn.

Hello! My name is Octavio. I'm 4 years old and I'm in the 2nd year kindergarten class. I just started Haitian Roots a few months ago. I love to come to school. I love to play with my friends, but I also listen well in class. Thank you for choosing to sponsor me!
Sabrina Blanca Casimir
Hello! I’m Blanca. I was born 18 July 2006. My favorite subjects in school are Math and Grammar. When I’m not at school I like to play volleyball with my friend Denis. When I grow up I want to become a doctor!
I am Dieuvela Clement. My birthdate is 10 April 2004. I live with my parents and my younger brother, Jephte. Because I haven’t had the chance to always go to school, I am behind in my studies and only in 2nd grade. But I go to the Haitian Roots Academy and they are helping me. I always try to be a good example wherever I go. The younger kids look up to me. I have a very soft heart for children with special needs and would like to be an educator that specifically works with them one day.

He says he is most grateful for his family, God, and his friends.
My name is Higgins Cadet. I am years old and in the 4th grade. My birthday is October 6, 2006. I live with my mom and sibling. I love music! I would like to become a musician…or maybe a doctor...or a lawyer. I don't know. I'm only 10.

Hi! I'm Fernando and I'm one of the youngest kids at the Haitian Roots Academy right now. When this pic was taken, I was really tired and not interested at all in cooperating for a photo. But I'm a sweet boy and need an education!
